Professor Margaret Harding is an Australian Chemist, currently Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at The Australian National University. ==Career== Harding was awarded a PhD in 1987 from the University of Sydney and a DSc in 2002 from the same institution.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Prof. Margaret M. Harding )〕 On completing her PhD she held postdoctoral positions at the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France and the University of Cambridge before returning to the University of Sydney where she held an academic position form 1990-2005.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Professor Margaret Harding )〕 She is a Professor of Chemistry and her research interests are in the areas of antifreeze proteins and ligand-DNA interactions. She has published over 110 research articles and has been awarded the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Rennie (1993) and Biota (1995) Medals. Harding was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at The Australian National University in June 2012.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) )〕 She previously held the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 2008-2012, and was the inaugural Dean of Graduate Research at UNSW from 2005 –2009. Professor Harding is a Director on the Boards of ANU Enterprise, Australian Scientific Instruments, National Computational Infrastructure and an alternate Director on the Board of ANU Connect Ventures. She has been a director on the Boards of the UNSW Foundation and Neuroscience Research Australia, and an alternate Director on the Board of Bionic Vision Australia.〔 She has been a member of the Australian Research Council (ARC) College of Experts and has served as Chair of the ARC International Linkage and ARC Scrutiny Committees and on the Editorial Boards of Medicinal Chemistry and MiniReviews in Medicinal Chemistry.
